4 Days in Singapore Travel Guide

Singapore in 4 Days

Singapore is small but packed. Four days is enough to hit the highlights without rushing through everything.

Day 1: Marina Bay

Start at Marina Bay Sands. Even if you’re not staying there, the observation deck has the best city views. Go at sunset if you can time it.

Gardens by the Bay is right there. The Supertree Grove is free to walk around. Cloud Forest and Flower Dome domes cost extra but are worth it if you like plants.

Merlion Park for the obligatory photo with the statue. It’s touristy but quick.

Day 2: Cultural Neighborhoods

Chinatown: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is genuinely impressive. Wander the streets, eat at Maxwell Food Centre. Chicken rice, char kway teow, carrot cake (not what you think).

Little India: Tekka Centre for lunch. Walk through the colorful streets. Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple if you’re interested.

Kampong Glam: Sultan Mosque, then Haji Lane for trendy shops and coffee. Good for an evening walk.

Day 3: Sentosa Island

Take the cable car over for the views. Universal Studios if you’re into theme parks. S.E.A. Aquarium is excellent even if you’re not a big aquarium person.

Beaches are fine – not spectacular but good for a break. Palawan Beach is the calmest.

Adventure Cove if you want waterpark action. Skip if crowds aren’t your thing.

Day 4: Your Pick

Options depending on what you’re into:

Singapore Zoo/Night Safari: One of the best zoos in the world. Night Safari is unique – go if you haven’t done one before.

Botanic Gardens: UNESCO site, free entry. Orchid Garden inside costs a few bucks but has stunning displays.

Orchard Road: Shopping. Big malls, international brands. Good for air conditioning on a hot day.

Food Strategy

Hawker centers are the move. Cheap, delicious, authentic. Maxwell, Lau Pa Sat, Old Airport Road, Tiong Bahru Market.

Must-try: Hainanese chicken rice, chilli crab (splurge meal), laksa, satay, kaya toast with soft-boiled eggs.

Practical Stuff

MRT is cheap and easy. Get an EZ-Link card at any station.

It’s hot and humid year-round. Light clothes, water bottle, expect to sweat.

Everything’s clean and safe. Fines for littering, jaywalking, chewing gum. Just follow the rules.

English is widely spoken. Communication is easy.
