Boston to Miami Road Trip (10 Days)
Classic East Coast drive. Here’s how to do it without rushing.
Day 1-2: Boston
Start in Boston. Walk the Freedom Trail. North End for Italian food. Cambridge if you want Harvard vibes. Fenway if the Sox are playing.
Day 3: Connecticut & New York
Drive through New England. Quick stop in Mystic if you want a cute coastal town. Enter NYC by evening. One night isn’t enough but it’s something.
Day 4: New York City
Full day in the city. Central Park, whatever museums interest you, good food. Skip the tourist traps. See what you can and accept you’ll miss stuff.
Day 5: New Jersey & Philadelphia
Morning drive to Philly. Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, cheesesteak. City has good energy. Stay the night.
Day 6: D.C.
Nation’s capital. Monuments are free. Smithsonians are free. Walk the Mall. Arlington Cemetery if you have time. Could easily spend more days here.
Day 7: Virginia
Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive if weather’s good. Colonial Williamsburg if history’s your thing. Virginia Beach for coast.
Day 8: North Carolina
Outer Banks for beaches and Wright Brothers history. Or head inland to Asheville for mountain town vibes and Biltmore Estate.
Day 9: South Carolina & Georgia
Charleston in the morning – historic, charming, good food. Savannah by evening – similar vibe, different feel. Stay in one or the other.
Day 10: Florida
Push to Miami or take your time through Jacksonville and St. Augustine. End on the beach.
Tips
1,500+ miles total. Book accommodations ahead for NYC and popular spots. Mix toll roads (faster) with scenic routes (prettier). Pack snacks. Gas up before leaving major cities.
